The Bookworms Read-a-Thon is a fundraiser for Brennen Elementary that promotes and encourages literacy while raising money to enhance our mission. The Read-a-Thon incentivizes students to set reading goals, obtain sponsors and strive to reach their goals by charting minutes read. The program culminates with our traditional Playground DJ Dance Party. With over 200,000 combined minutes read school-wide, Bookworms raised approximately $40,000 last year to fund a large portion of the PTO operating budget, classroom supplies, playground enhancements, Literacy Lab, Free Brennen Family events, campus beautification, staff appreciation, Daddy/Daughter Dance, Mother/Son Event, teacher professional development, 4th/5th Grade Play, and much more!
